Shure Promotes William Chan to Managing Director of Shure

Niles, IL, July 26, 2011—Shure Incorporated is announcing the appointment of William Chan to Managing Director of its Shure Asia/Pacific Business Unit, effective July 1, 2011.

Chan joined Shure Asia as Regional Marketing Director in 2008 and was promoted to Deputy Managing Director in 2011. As Deputy Managing Director, he provided effective leadership through business planning, sales, and marketing coordination, effectively coordinating BU efforts with Associates around the world, and managing day-to-day matters in Hong Kong.

“William has demonstrated excellent management capabilities and is a role model for the Shure culture and our Core Values,” said Al Hershner, Vice President of Shure’s Americas and Asia/Pacific Business Units.

As Managing Director of Shure Asia/Pacific Business Unit, Chan will lead the Asia/Pacific team to oversee all sales and marketing activities and strengthen the presence of the Shure brand in the region.

Before joining Shure in 2008, he spent three years with Oracle Systems Greater China as an Applications Marketing Manager and eight years with Apple Asia working in various positions, most recently as Senior Marketing Communications Manager, North Asia.

While working for Apple, Chan supervised the Marketing Communications team in North Asia and overall brand and Marketing Communications and Public Relations activities in Hong Kong, Korea, and Taiwan.

Chan received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Hull, United Kingdom, and his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto, Canada.

“I am glad to become Managing Director of Shure Asia,” Chan said. “I am confident that, with the support of our talented team members in Asia and the professionalism and dedication that they exhibit, we will be able to further grow the business of Shure in Asia.”
