With Specialized Knowledge Needed for Mission-Critical Applications, AMX Adds Former U.S. Military and Industry Experts to Serve Government Technology Customers

RICHARDSON, TX - September 3, 2010 - AMX®, the leading provider of solutions that simplify the implementation, maintenance, and use of technology to create effective environments, today announced the addition of four key staff members to its government technology division. The new team members will direct strategic sales and business development initiatives tailored to the unique needs of Federal, State and Local agencies.

The team will apply special focus on building end-user relationships and awareness of AMX solutions - particularly those that address the convergence of information technology (IT) and audio-visual (AV) networks at the enterprise level.

Former U.S. Air Force Captain, Troy Trujillo, has been named Director of Air Force Programs. Veteran U.S. Army Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Mark Coplen, has been tapped for Director of U.S. Army Programs and Strategic Sales. Brian Carter has been named Director of Government Business Development. And Tom Shaw will serve as Director of Navy/USMC Programs. Each will be reporting to John Hanby, AMX Vice President of Government Sales.

"AMX has built a strong reputation in the government market as a supplier of high-performance, secure platforms supporting Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence and Information (C4I2) operations," commented Hanby. "Troy, Mark, Brian and Tom have in-depth experience in the government technology arena, and in particular the military branch they will serve, enabling them to provide key insight and service to our government partners."

Trujillo, a U.S. Air Force Academy graduate, has over 15 years experience in business development and sales concentrated in Federal Department of Defense, civilian and global corporate accounts while with companies such as Northrup Grumman, Ezenia and Tom Sawyer Software. Trujillo served seven years in the U.S. Air Force rising to the rank of Captain, Operations Support Engineer. While in the Air Force, his duties included managing engineering services contracts with responsibilities for the operational readiness of the satellite command and control network for the DoD's highest priority space assets.

Having recently completed a tour of duty in Iraq working in the Corps Joint Operations Center, 22-year Army Officer Coplen will focus on Army end users and technology partners. Previously Coplen, a West Point graduate, held senior-level positions with high tech companies such as ClearCube and Dell Computers while serving in a reserve capacity. Coplen remains on Army Reserve duty currently.

Carter brings to AMX more than 26 years of experience in strategic planning, business development and project management in the federal, state, local government and commercial IT sectors. Prior to joining AMX, Carter served on the Federal Alliance team at Dell Computers for 12 years. He also worked with other leading government technology providers, including Texas Instruments.

Serving our US Navy & Marine Corp end users and partners, Shaw has 18-year of sales and marketing background with the federal government, with companies such as Dell, Oracle and GTSI. While at Dell for 11 years his efforts played a key role in the company rising to the top supplier of computer and software sales to the Navy and Marine Corp.

According to Hanby, "Solutions our government partners can expect include C4I2 AV integration, facility and resource building management, installation management - at the Fort or Base level - and extensive integrated security."

The specialized team will route opportunities to the appropriate AMX dealer as they develop.
