SVP of Global Channels Myers recognized for channel advocacy and commitment to helping partners extend and grow their business into new video collaboration markets across any environment

PLEASANTON, Calif. - Feb 22, 2012 : Polycom, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLCM), the global leader in standards-based unified communications (UC), today announced Ron Myers, senior vice president, Global Channels, Polycom, has been named one of CRN's 2012 Channel Chiefs. This prestigious list of the most influential and powerful leaders in the IT channel recognizes those executives directly responsible for driving channel sales and growth within their organization, while evangelizing and defending the importance of the channel throughout the entire IT Industry.

Myers was recognized for his commitment to the channel community and his strategic leadership. Previously, he was named a 2010 Channel Chief while Polycom's Choice Partner Program was awarded a 5-Star Partner rating two years in a row (2010 and 2011). Myers manages Polycom's worldwide framework of 6500 go-to-market channel partners which helped drive a majority of Polycom's revenues in 2011. In addition to the channel, Polycom also works with strategic alliance partners – some of the top innovation leaders in unified communications – to deliver integrated, standards-based solutions that provide customers with the most complete, end-to-end UC solutions while helping channel partners increase revenue and expand margins.

"It's an honor to be recognized for the strong channel program we have at Polycom," said Myers. "We have a world-class team, a compelling vision to make video collaboration ubiquitous, and a solid strategy to grow the market, and we're executing with speed and precision. As shown by our 23 percent year-over-year revenue increase in 2011, Polycom has had a steep growth path, and our channel partners are a huge part of our success. They're helping to drive the network effect for Polycom® RealPresence™ video collaboration solutions across any combination of environment, device, and location including the home office, work office, conference room, a mobile device, or immersive theater."

Myers is responsible for program and policy development, partner models, go-to-market strategies, and other initiatives to support Polycom's channel partners. He was responsible for re-launching the enhanced Polycom Choice Partner Program that offers channel partners customized benefits while emphasizing skills development and specialization. Under Myer's leadership, Polycom launched the Preferred Partner Program and rolled out tools to support the channel community, such as the web-based Partner Locator (which allows end-users to target and locate the Polycom partner best suited to meet their business needs) and a revamped online portal (which provides centralized access to tools, training, and sales resources).

For the ninth consecutive year, Channel Chiefs were selected by the CRN editorial team based on channel experience, program innovations, channel-driven revenue, and public support for the importance of IT channel sales.

"The 2012 Channel Chiefs list recognizes vendor executives dedicated to driving channel programs in the IT marketplace," said Kelley Damore, VP, Editorial Director, UBM Channel. "Our annual Channel Chiefs issue is a must-read for IT solution providers evaluating new vendors or looking to expand solution offerings.
