Woodland Park, NJ (April 21, 2014) – In what can be considered a command performance of his well-attended presentation on Building Information Modeling (BIM), FSR Inc.’s Director of Architectural Development, Jon Melchin, will be included among the prestigious speakers presenting at the 2014 BICSI Canadian Conference & Exhibition.
BICSI, a professional association supporting the information technology systems (ITS) industry, holds internationally recognized events that are focused on education and bring together the best in technical presentations, state-of-the-art exhibits and networking opportunities. Known for its offerings in world-class technology training, BICSI Canada will take place from April 27–30 in Vancouver, British Columbia at the Vancouver Convention Centre where it will feature a full schedule of sessions delivered by BICSI master instructors and industry experts, such as Melchin.
“I am honored each and every year I’m asked to return and deliver this presentation on BIM to the diverse group of professionals that regularly attend the BICSI conference and who consider training and education a top priority,” says Melchin. “This presentation was created to be interactive and, like other years, will invite the members of the audience to participate in a discussion regarding all the advantages of BIM and all the people that can benefit from its implementation. I look forward to this year’s presentation and meeting those who will participate.”
Melchin’s presentation, The New Face of Design: Building Information Modeling and What it Means to the AV Industry, takes a look into Building Information Modeling (BIM) – a 3D design, modeling and simulation technology that has changed the way architecture is practiced. It will explore its impact on the AV industry and rely on an actual BIM designed project to further demonstrate its influence. The session will take place on Monday, April 28th.
Melchin, who has extensive experience in the architectural industry, will divulge knowledge and share his views that BIM eclipses the 3D representation of the physical products and functional characteristics of a structure to provide a shared knowledge resource for everyone involved in the design process. The session is intended for architects, interior designers, engineers, contractors, facility owners, AV consultants and system integrators.
An accomplished speaker and a Passport Provider with the American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System (AIA-CES) who conducts presentations that result in audience accreditation, Melchin’s position as Director of Architectural Business Development with FSR underscores his solid relationship with the architectural and design community. Naturally, this makes his contributions to the Conference especially valuable. Melchin is an author of a number of articles published in international trade publications targeting the construction and audiovisual industries.
