- Stewart Black Out Shade is a custom roller shading system for controlling sunlight in commercial and residential applications
CEDIA EXPO - Denver, CO - September 4, 2008 - Stewart Filmscreen Corporation®, the industry leader in precision projection screen technologies for the residential and commercial markets, introduced the Stewart Black Out Shade, a convenient and beautiful window treatment solution for systems integrators that must control and black out sunlight in residential applications.
In the past, projected light and ambient light didn't work well together. Today rooms with a view and a top-end front projection system are no longer incompatible due to Stewart’s advancements in projection screen technology. Now it is possible to view a clean, vibrant and detailed image even with a lot of ambient light. However, there are those times when it's necessary to control the amount of light (and heat) entering your windows. For those situations, Stewart provides the Stewart Black Out Shade.
Complimenting the existing Stewart line of retractable screen and roller products, the Stewart Black Out Shade has been designed for any residential or commercial application where sunlight control is desired or necessary. Who better than Stewart in knowing the importance of light control in achieving the perfect display experience? Since sunlight must be taken into account during the design of any home cinema projection system, the Stewart Black Out Shade is just another way that Stewart can help achieve the best possible image in any environment, under any circumstance.
As the day goes on, the amount of light that enters a given window changes continually. Using the supplied remote control, the Stewart Black Out Shade can be adjusted individually or as part of a group of window shades. In fact, the Stewart Black Out Shade can be fully integrated into automated building management control systems and energy compliant Pilot RQ. The motorized shade can create a total blackout effect (when using blackout fabric) and the Light Lock kit creates side and bottom sill channels to prevent light from even entering at the edges of the shade.
The Stewart Black Out Shade is engineered to be simple to install, easy to operate, and pleasing to look at. The Stewart Black Out Shade is whisper quiet, using the latest in quiet-motor technology including Lutron QS and Legacy 120v motors. Stewart supplies their exclusive mounting hardware and fascia. A Headbox Pocket system is also available for recessing the roller into the ceiling or as a valance above the window.
When the shade is installed, the hem-bar can be exposed or enclosed based on preference. The Stewart Black Out Shade is completely customizable to match the style and color of the customer's existing décor with a Mermet shade fabric designed for durability. Other fabrics are also available upon request.
The Stewart Black Out Shade is a perfect compliment to Stewart's stylish and designer friendly Cabaret Screen, which unobtrusively brings front screen projection into any decor.
